She talks her style, influences, her creative process, released projects & more exclusive to

Tell us about yourself

My name is ZAHRAH, I’m from East London and I’m a singer and a writer.

What influences the art/music you create?

Everything that is real. My experiences, relationships, feelings, conversations. The world. It’s my escape but I travel through it with truth still.

What genre or style are you sticking to?

R&B will always be my foundation, it’s my natural tone and style. I’m definitely open to other vibes, but that R&B Essence will always be in there.

What sparked your interest in making music?

I grew up in a big creative family. Everyone was quite musical, but I was really shy about it, so I’d practice by myself on the low. I had a real passion for writing, so I loved creating my own songs. I think music was how I found my voice and my-self on a personal level, it was the only way I knew how to express my real feels. Naturally, I always found myself in creative spaces and followed the calling.

What projects have you released or planning to release?

Since last year I’ve released 3 singles. I’ve just released my first music video for my song ‘Damn Fool’, directed and produced by Sparbz. I definitely plan to release a project… everything in its time.

What keeps you motivated, what is your creative process?

Life keeps me motivated. There is always something happening and there’s always something to express.
My creative process changes. I love to write alone, that’s when I’m most honest. But in the studio, I tend to get on the mic and just freestyle, that’s when I’m most creative.

What more to expect from your brand in the future?

More creativity, growth and connection for sure. I would love to share more of myself within my music.

Who are you eager to collaborate with?

Haile, 169, Miss Banks and Backroad Gee.

What is your fashion sense saying?

I like to keep it simple and fly tbh. A casual homegirl give for the daily. I tend to be all blacked out. Always a pair of shades and big earrings.

Describe your social & romantic relationship status?

I’m single right now.

First Date Ideas?

I like something low-key with good vibes, a quiet restaurant or bar. I love lunch/brunch dates. Going for a drive to a beautiful view (food must be involved), and lots of laughter. 2nd date should be fun/creative

Favourite whip/car?

Black Range Rover. I always wanted that Red Jeep Moesha had

Vacay country/countries of choice?

Italy (Amalfi Coast), Zanzibar (my home), Oman and Mexico. Need to go to Jamaica (2nd home) and Ghana.

Soda or Water?

Workout routine?

There is no routine.

How do you uplift your self spiritually and mentally?

I spend time alone and recharge often. I talk to God…and listen.
I like to keep a calm space and constantly practice mindfulness through meditation, eating well, being conscious about what my mind and body need from sleep, food, laughter, love, fresh air. And spending time with my close family and friends, they keep me grounded.

What impact do you plan to leave on society?

I would like to inspire people to live and lead by Love and truth. To stay connected with themselves and each other. And to know God and keep faith.

Who is/are your mentor(s)?

My producer Sparbz, J-sol who is an artist and a good friend of mine. My mother, and God of course. Those are my life mentors.

Give a quote(s) you want to be remembered by?

You’re never BY yourself, you are WITH yourself.

Thanks for pulling up, Looking forward to seeing you at the next SKRT Fest event.
